March is being way too nice right now and we're not complaining. If the weather this week has you feeling optimistic about spring, good. Channel that energy into getting out and doing something. We've got plenty of ideas for you below.

Top 3 this week

Here are our 3 favourite events happening this week

Friday the 13th Rail Jam

Friday, March 13 | 4 PM - 9 PM | Base of Smart Alec, Blue Mountain

Friday the 13th falls on a Friday this week (spooky, we know). Blue Mountain is leaning into it with a Rail Jam at the base of Smart Alec. Skiers
and snowboarders throwing tricks on rails from 4 to 9 PM. Even if you're just watching, it's a good excuse to grab a drink in the village and
catch some free entertainment.

Hells Bells: Celebrating the Music of AC/DC

Saturday, March 14 | 7:30 PM | The Historic Roxy Theatre, Owen Sound

If you've ever air-guitared to Thunderstruck in your kitchen, this one's for you. Hells Bells is bringing the full AC/DC experience to the Roxy
Theatre in Owen Sound on Saturday night. Loud, fun, and probably the closest thing to a stadium rock show you'll get in Grey-Bruce this winter.

Locals Karaoke

Friday, March 13 | 10 PM | Locals, 877 Queen St, Kincardine

Look, it's Friday the 13th. Anything can happen. So why not grab the mic at Locals in Kincardine and belt out your best Don't Stop Believin'?
Karaoke kicks off at 10 PM. No judgement. Mostly.

Sponsored Spotlight

Greenock Food Collective

Two Bruce County farm kids. One big idea. Better local food.

James Wilton and Adam Dales grew up on beef farms in Bruce County, played the same sports, went to the same school. Now they're running Greenock Food Collective out of Mildmay, bringing locally raised beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and more to the region.

Everything is thoughtfully raised. Adam runs the farming side with a focus on regenerative practices and humane handling. James runs the
business. Together they've built a full food collective with a retail storefront at Carrick Farm Market between Walkerton and Mildmay.

They also do custom butchery, sausage making, and stock up pantry staples and local produce. If you care about where your food comes from, these
are your guys.

Browse their selection at greenockfood.com or stop by Carrick Farm Market in person.

Community Calendar

Our Community Calendar covers Grey & Bruce Counties. It’s a large area, so if we missed an event we are sorry, we will do better next time!

Our Community Calendar was getting a bit too enthusiastic. Turns out stuffing a week’s worth of local fun into one email makes for a very long scroll.

So we’ve given it its own space! Click the button below to check out the full lineup of events this week.

Foodie Flash

Naagan - Owen Sound

Ever heard of a 12-course tasting menu in downtown Owen Sound? Yeah, neither had we.

Naagan is the work of Chef Zach Keeshig, an Ojibway chef from Cape Croker who spent years training at some of the best kitchens in Canada.

Then he came home to Grey-Bruce and opened a 17-seat restaurant serving progressive Indigenous cuisine.

The menu changes constantly. Think cedar tea, bannock with fresh pickerel, wild duck smoked with cherry, and sweetgrass ice cream. Nearly
everything is locally sourced or foraged. And here's the twist: there's zero alcohol. The drink pairings are all handcrafted. Wild ginger beer,
foraged kombucha, medicinal teas. Chef Zach says he didn't want anything blurring the experience.

It worked. Naagan was named the #9 Best New Restaurant in Canada by Canada's 100 Best in 2025.

It's $165 per person, so this isn't your Tuesday night dinner. But if you're looking for a bucket-list meal without leaving the region, this is it.

Naagan is open weekends. Book ahead. Seats go fast when you only have 17 of them.

Hidden Gem of the week

Atelier 522 - Neustadt

If you haven't wandered down Mill Street in Neustadt lately, you're missing one of the coolest little shops in Grey County.

Atelier 522 is a European-inspired gift boutique and working art studio tucked inside a restored 1880s heritage building. It used to be a
tinsmith's shop. Now it's filled with imported European ceramics, French soaps, dried botanicals, terra cotta garden pots, candles, linens, and
pieces from local artisans.

The owner, Elizabeth, moved up from Toronto, found this neglected yellow brick building, and brought it back to life. Her art studio is in the
back room, and if the timing's right, you can watch her work while you browse.

The shop closes for January and February, which means it should be opening back up right about now. Perfect excuse to take a drive to Neustadt, poke around the main street, and grab something you won't find at any chain store.

Open Fridays to Sundays, 11 AM to 4 PM.
