Top 3 this week
Here are our 3 favourite events happening this week
Mildmay Fall Fair - “Let The Good Times Grow”
Think classic country fair turned up to 11: barn-quaking dance, cornhole, horseshoe, and volleyball tournaments, brag-worthy baking contests and enough plaid to outfit a lumberjack convention. Grab a butter-tart, cheer on the demolition derby and live your best small-town-Ontario life. Sept 5-7, Mildmay-Carrick Rec Complex.
Port Elgin Farmers’ & Artisan Market — Season Finale
One last lap around the stalls: sunrise strawberries, pierogi the size of your fist and makers hawking everything from beeswax wraps to board-art. It’s the perfect mid-week excuse to play hooky and stock the fridge. Wednesday, Sept 3, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., corner of Bricker & Green.
Owen Sound Fall Fair — 173 Years Young
Livestock shows, demo derbies, and a beer garden that keeps the tractors humming. If you like your funnel cake with a side of adrenaline, Victoria Park is the place to be. Sept 4-6. o early, stay late, wear stretchy pants.

Community Calendar
Our Community Calendar covers Grey & Bruce Counties. It’s a large area, so if we missed an event we are sorry, we will do better next time!

Our Community Calendar was getting a bit too enthusiastic. Turns out stuffing a week’s worth of local fun into one email makes for a very long scroll.
So we’ve given it its own space! Click the button below to check out the full lineup of events this week.
Foodie Flash
The FIG Studio Kitchen

Ripley’s tiny but mighty fine-dining outpost where F.I.G. = “Food Is Great.”
Snag a seat in the open “studio” to watch chefs crank out bison empanadas, Wagyu burgers dripping in smoked mozz, and sticky-toffee pudding that should come with a warning label.
Named a 2024 Canadian Choice Award finalist, FIG flexes big-city flavour in a zero-stoplight town.
Book early, because tables vanish quicker than their truffle-fries platter.
Hidden Gem of the week
Skinner’s Bluff Lookout

Trade your inbox for an edge-of-the-world cliff.
A 15-minute root-laced stroll on the Bruce Trail drops you onto 455 hectares of Niagara Escarpment greatness—sheer drop, Georgian Bay teal, islands dotting the horizon.
Free, dog-friendly (leash up), and criminally under-posted on Instagram.
Punch “Colpoy’s Range Rd” into Maps, park before the steep downhill, follow the white blazes, and let the camera roll until your storage cries uncle.
