Here are our 3 favourite events happening this week

International Women's Day — Across Grey-Bruce

Thu Mar 5 – Sun Mar 8 • Various locations across Grey-Bruce

This week, Grey-Bruce is showing up for the women in our communities — and there are events happening all across the region to prove it. From luncheons and evening galas to rallies and community gatherings, there's something happening in just about every corner of the area. Check the full calendar below for the complete list.

2026 Polar Plunge — Kincardine & Shallow Lake

Fri Mar 6 • Kincardine  |  Sat Mar 7 • Shallow Lake

You read that right, people are voluntarily jumping into freezing cold water this week, and honestly, it looks like a great time. The Polar Plunge is one of the most fun fundraising events of the year, raising money for Special Olympics Ontario. Whether you're jumping in yourself or just cheering from the sidelines in a warm coat, come out and support a great cause. Check the calendar for links.

After the Gold Rush — The Neil Young Experience

Sat Mar 7 • 8 PM • Victoria Jubilee Hall, Walkerton

If you've ever wanted to hear Harvest Moon, Old Man, or Heart of Gold live, this is your Saturday night sorted. After the Gold Rush brings a full tribute to the legendary Neil Young catalogue, and they're bringing it to one of the best small-stage venues in the area.

Sponsored Spotlight

Ballagh Handcrafted

Tired of generic gifts that end up in a drawer? Meet Mike Ballagh. A local craftsman turning Grey-Bruce hardwood into pieces that actually last a lifetime.

Ballagh Handcrafted specializes in custom butcher blocks, hand-turned wooden bowls, epoxy river boards, and one-of-a-kind clocks. All made by hand, right here in our backyard. Every piece is built to be used, not just looked at.

Custom orders are Mike's speciality, got a size in mind? A wood type? A specific space to fill? Reach out and he'll build it for you. Perfect for a housewarming, a wedding gift, or honestly just treating yourself.

Community Calendar

Our Community Calendar covers Grey & Bruce Counties. It’s a large area, so if we missed an event we are sorry, we will do better next time!

Our Community Calendar was getting a bit too enthusiastic. Turns out stuffing a week’s worth of local fun into one email makes for a very long scroll.

So we’ve given it its own space! Click the button below to check out the full lineup of events this week.

Foodie Flash

Casero Kitchen Table — Owen Sound

It started on a 1949 double-decker bus in Sauble Beach. Now, more than a decade later, the team behind the iconic Casero Taco Bus has a year-round home right in the heart of Owen Sound.

Chef Emily Leonard built Casero on a simple idea: Mexican-inspired food, made entirely from scratch, using local ingredients wherever possible. They've been a FeastOn-certified restaurant since 2016 — one of only a handful in Grey-Bruce.

The menu is packed with standouts: smoked brisket and pork tacos, house nachos, an unexpectedly great Brussels sprouts appetizer, and churros to finish. They also run an in-house brisket program, fully smoked Ontario beef, available to take home from local spots like Moore's Meats in Chatsworth.

Open Mon–Thu 11:30–8:00 and Fri–Sat 11:30–9:00. You can walk in or grab a reservation on Resy. Find them at 946 3rd Ave E, Owen Sound.

Hidden Gem of the week

Coffin Ridge Boutique Winery — Annan

Grey County's first winery sits on a hillside in Annan, overlooking the crystal-blue water of Georgian Bay And yes, it's exactly as good as that sounds.

Coffin Ridge is a small-batch boutique operation, every grape is hand-planted and hand-picked right here in Grey County. Their signature wines go by names like Back From The Dead Red, Into The Light White, and Resurrection Rosé. The vibe matches.

Right now they're running a winter snowshoe experience. Strap on a pair (or borrow theirs), head out through the vineyard, then warm up inside with a tasting and a vintner's plate of local breads and cheeses paired to your glass.

Open Thursday to Sunday, 11am–5pm. Reservations recommended. Find them at 599448 2nd Concession North, Annan.
